The USCIS will honor the procedure to register births or do a name change in the home country, i suggest you submit the documents that you referred to and also get a local attorney to attest to the local law in such matters citing the proper section of the law. Name change before the Court should be sufficient but better to get this verified.

It's hard to answer your question without more details, such as your current status. Company B can definitely file a new H-1B for you. Your current status will dictate whether you "need" to tell them about the earlier filing. However, having a prior petition filed might not have any negative impact, so you probably don't need to be nervous about telling Co. B.

Yesterday I went to a training for immigration attorneys in Sacramento, California. While I did not learn anything new about what is happening at Sacramento USCIS, I did learn about new procedures being applied to applicants applying for visas abroad.
It seems that applicants who have tattoos are being screened more carefully at their medical appointments. The belief is that an individual with a tatoo may be involved in gang activity which furthermore may lead to that individual engaging in substance abuse. In a published article included in conference materials at the American Immigration Lawyers Association�s (�AILA (http://www.aila.org/)�) annual conference, immigration lawyers Fernando Rojas and Magda Montiel Davis, explain what is happening:
Panel physicians are asking applicants about the meaning of their tattoos and the medical personnel conducting the exam will take notes describing the tattoo. This interrogation could lead to further questions about the applicant�s possible gang affiliation and criminal history. Applicants with tattoos are also being questioned by the panel physician regarding their substance abuse history. Apparently, panel physicians are making the assumption that applicants with tattoos are more likely to do or abuse drugs. If the beneficiary admits to any drug use, Consulates will use this information against the applicant in order to deny the visa by making a substance abuse finding against them.A finding of substance abuse is serious because an applicant who is a drug user or abuser may be denied admission to the United States pursuant to Immigration and Nationality Act Section 212(a)(1)(A)(iv) (http://www.uscis.gov/propub/ProPubVAP.jsp?dockey=9b60c646835045a30ceca097f0ca1 ba3). I would counsel anyone carefully who has a tattoo to be very honest about what the tattoo means. AR-11 is filed manually and mailed. Everyone will use 41 cents stamp.. No way to track it if its really done or not.. Its in your interest only if you've pending applciation where you expect any replies to your address...

The primary applicant's H1-B status must be valid for the dependent to get H-4 VISA stamp. The primary's own VISA stamp is not an issue.
I second that.
As long as your H1 "status" is valid (I 94 is not expired and you are working for H1 job at the employer that is mentioned on I 94), your family members will only need copy of your approved H1 (form 797 with attached unexpired I 94). They will get their visa without much problem.

I received the following mail from USCIS. I had my birthdate wrong on my I-797 approval notice for F1. My school advisor had mailed the service center, and today I received this email from CRIS. Please let me know what this means exactly.
Current Status: We mailed you an amended notice.
On January 27, 2009, an amended notice on this case was mailed describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on the notice. WOW I'm sorry to hear this, I was on the same boat so I can understand. There's nothing you can do. Your employer or attorney can try to contact DOL. I filed May 07 as well, they audited and after replying nothing happened for a very long time. And then out of the blue they approved March of 08. My attorney said there's nothing we can do other than wait as they were auditing left and right, specially EB2. Eventhough my attorney send letters requesting updates they never responded.
I guess I was extremly lucky to finally get approved.

I got RFE on my whole family’s pending I-485 applications
The REF description is “ There is a missing signature in page 4 of your application. The signature of the person who prepared your form I-485 is missing. Please have it signed by the preparer, Mr. ABC”.
I used software owned by company(Ex) to prepare these forms. And Mr. ABC is heads for immigration department in that company. I entered all the necessary info in that application and took print out for 485 form. Mr ABC details and company address printed in the 4th page of I-485 application(Part 5.Signature of person preparing form, if other than above.(sign below)) area.
Mr ABC did not put the signature there because he did not prepare the application and sent application to USCIS. My signature is there in applicant area(no problem).

Now,
I contacted ex-company to get the signature on my I-485 application but he no longer working with them. Company immigration people are telling me that the signature in not required in that form.

Finally I think the "prepared by signature" is not at all required because I entered all my information for my I-485.

May be IV code is already aware and working on this. I think with the nuke deal out of the way, we now have a window of opportunity - may be Q1/Q2 2007 - during which we can try to get USINPAC, India caucus etc. to listen to us and hopefully actually do something.
Once the so called "123 agreement" is finalized and reaches congress for approval, we would again be shut out of any help from USINPAC and others.

I don't intend to get a second H-1.. The second job that I want to do is just 3-5hrs a week and dont want any sponsorship for it.
U dont have an option. If you want 2 paid jobs, you need to have 2 H1s. I dont know of any exceptions to this rule.

Today PD (aug 2006 / EB3) is now current :) and I have my I 140 approved.
I also have another job offer which looks great. :confused: But they will start GC only after 3-4 months!
Should I just stick on to my current job and ride it out for 6 months to get EAD?
When does one get EAD 3 months after filing 485 or after 6?
Also if the dates retrogress, will 485 get approved? or Should the date remain current till 485 gets approved?
