Assuming the 10.1 CD works the same as 10.2, you should be able to insert the CD while 9 is running, and run the Installer.
If that doesn't work, try holding Option as you start up, then click the CD to force booting from it.

Most of the 720p h264 media on the web is upward of 4MB/s (due to scene rules), with an extra 640/768/1536KB/s for audio. So the bitrate can easily reach around double what you're suggesting.
Exactly. So unless he's going to be storing text documents and mp3s, it's not really going to be all that great.

Hi all,
I have a late 2007 24" Al iMac with BT and AirPort. I just ordered a Kindle Wi-Fi only from Amazon. I don't have (or want) a wireless modem.
Anyone know if I will be able to access the web by running the Kindle wefi to the iMac BT? I think both use the 802.11b/g/n standard.
Thanks for any info.
Bluetooth and most 802.11 devices use the same 2.4ghz frequency but you can't use one with the other, you have to have both ends on the same technology.
You can use Internet sharing from something like ethernet to wifi.

On days like today when the site expereinces a higher than usual load the site changes a little in the background to keep up with the pace of visitors.
One of these changes is to move to the macrumorslive.

Olympic games are worthless without the power pad :) Just sit on the ground on your knees and pound the mat with your fists at drum like speed...the only way to beat Cheata.
The power pad is (not was, is) awesome. But there's a better way to run fast. Use your heels. :)
"If you beat me, you're the best." :D

I dont even know which one is my favorite. Mostly all of them are hilarious. I liked the one with the pool in the middle of the apartment. when the guy writes back and says uuuh I think you sent me the wrong floor plans LOL!! And he non-chalantly says oh I forgot to mention I had a pool built in the middle of the apartment as if it's a small thing. Genius

Is this the final Mass Effect 2 DLC? I know Witch Hunt was the last Dragon Age DLC ...
... I just wish there was some way I could buy stuff for PC with MS points ... but that is another story!

Just can't get myself to buy Bioshock2 for some reason...I think I'll go straight to this one!
Depends on what you liked from the first one. BioShock 2 was a better "game" to play, as the shooting and plasmid mechanics were refined a little bit, and it had a little more variety in the action. But, if you liked the story, and creepy pacing and atmosphere from the first one, BS2 was not as good. Though, it could just be the fact that experiencing Rapture for the first time in BioShock 1 was so amazing, it was kind of impossible for BioShock 2 to live up to it. But really, it was a good game. If you find it on sale anywhere, it is still very worth playing.
I guess real estate under the ocean became too expensive and they decided to lease air-rights instead.
I hate to be a buzzkill on your joke, but this game takes place in 1912, about 30-40 years before the events of Rapture.

I was planning on going to the Apple Store in Baton Rouge this evening, but since the line has already started forming, I'm just going to stay in Lake Charles and go to the Derek Drive store. I was the first person last year in line at this store. I'll be there around 12ish. Anyone else planning on going?

If you have your HD set up this way, can you access it from anywhere or just on your home network? I'm wanting to get all my music and movies set up this way so that I can free up space on my mbp, but I don't want to lug around a portable HD everywhere I go
