It is always unlocked, even after I've explicitly clicked the lock to lock it , after I re-open System Preferences it still remains unlocked.
I do not do any type of sharing with any computer on my network, so why does that lock gets unlocked by it self?
Im thinking it's normal and there;s nothing to worry about but how do I make the lock stay locked
Also, I've noticed that after you've unlocked something if you don't click the lock to lock it .. it remains open, even after reboot. So, if I forget to lock the lock anyone with access to my computer(physically and over the internet) can change settings that require administrator privilege. Is there a way to rectify this? Or just remember to lock the lock? lol

LOL. Climte gate showed the world that junk science and data suppression are the norm amongst these fraudsters, and that they'll stoop to any level to "prove" their preposterous theories. These global warming "scientists" are laughing stocks.
LOL, no.
But it's not all bad news: your "post" has been "entered" in the MacRumors "Best Use of Sarcastically-Intended Quotations" "competition" for "2011." Good luck!

Hi!
I realized that If I download .xls file (for example) I and double click it - it open's in TextEdit. If I click Quick Look icon it does view the entire content of the file nicely...So my question is: How to make changes in a way that double click opens .xls file with Quick Look by default.
Thank you! :)

You'll need something more than iMovie for that, Final Cut Express at least.

Nice. Having fun yet? ;)
Also, I just noticed, no Google ads. Is that going to stay that way, or is it temporary?

Impressive design, but not really practical.
Took me ages to work out the navigation side of the site.

First result on google.
Well, look at that, overwhelming consensus that there was little to worry about in the leak except for some transparency issues, and that the science behind it is still as strong as ever.
From that article:
The "rigour and honesty" of the scientists at the Climatic Research Unit were found not to be in doubt.[15] The panel found that they did not subvert the peer review process to censor criticism as alleged, and that the key data needed to reproduce their findings was freely available to any "competent" researcher
Just to re-iterate your point :).
As for arguments of somehow "creating wealth" regardless of climate change, well thats a remarkably silly thing to say. Not only will a significant amount of important land mass be lost. But our oceans will significantly increase in PH thanks to the formation of carbonic acid and the introduction of large amounts of PH 7 fresh water compared to the oceans current PH of roughly 8.14.
A MAJOR change with enormously wide reaching consequences. Ocean acidification in conjunction with massive over fishing, population manipulation, pollution etc. may be the final nail in the coffin of marine biodiversity.
...which is bad (for the economy AND the environment)

Rendzevous is an open-source implementation of the Zero-conf networking standard. It was created by apple.
It is likely that most devices will within the next few years, if they are networkable, come with Rendzevous built-in.
Microsoft have yet to implement either Rendzevous or any part of the Zero-conf standard yet. If they do it will likely be a proprietary version as is usual for them.
To use TCP/IP with a Windows machine is not hard. Just search here or MacOS X Hints (http://www.macosxhints.com) for information on it.
As for iChat Rendezvous, it will not work with a Windows PC yet. To chat with them they will need to get an AIM or .Mac account. You can then use them through that.
I have heard that ICQ can also be used in iChat AV.
Sorry for the long post, hoped it helped and Good Luck.

This past week, my 2006 MacBook has been randomly shutting down. At first, it wouldn't even start up, but now it will periodically turn off while I am in the middle of something important. Before I take it to the Geniuses, I am going to do a clean install of Snow Leopard to see if that solves the problem. Any tips for preserving iLife, my files, and the iWork suite so I can move them back to my MacBook when the reinstall is done?
Thanks. :D
Thanks. :D

So some of you have seen my post about trying to decide b/w a macbook pro 15 or 17. But I was talking to someone today and they said that they heard that the newest model MBP may be released in September? I know this may be a stretch simply because i dont know how much anybody knows about the release date. But should i go ahead with my purchase of the quadcore 2011 version released a couple months ago or should i wait for a possible release that might not even happen?

No, the fastest you can put in it is the T7600. The Mini will not boot if it the CPU has a faster bus speed then 667Mhz.
thanks for the info i found one for less then the t7600 and it has a 6mb cache so i was hoping it would under clock and be a t7600 with a 6mb cache
